Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread
Savory Philly Cheesesteak-Style Garlic Bread
Ingredients:
1 large baguette, halved lengthwise
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the baguette.
Toast the Baguette:
Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
Cook the Steak:
While the bread is toasting, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced ribeye steak and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.
Combine Steak and Vegetables:
Add the cooked steak back to the skillet and mix with the vegetables.
Assemble the Bread:
Remove the baguette halves from the oven and top with the steak and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Bake Again:
Return the baguette to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
