Ingredients:

  • 29 oz canned sliced peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the entire can of sliced peaches, including the syrup, into a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg until the syrup is fragrant and the peaches are evenly coated.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Pour in the milk and melted butter, whisking until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour the batter evenly over the top of the peaches without stirring them together.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the top is a deep mahogany-colored golden crust.
