Ingredients:

  • 4 oz strong hot coffee
  • 1.5 oz Irish whiskey
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 oz heavy whipping cream
  • 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Fill your glass with boiling water and let it sit for 60 seconds to temper the vessel. Discard the water and pat the glass dry.
  2. Add the brown sugar to the glass followed by the hot coffee. Stir vigorously until the sugar is completely dissolved, then stir in the Irish whiskey.
  3. Pour the cold heavy cream into a small jam jar and shake for 15–20 seconds until thickened to a pourable consistency, but not to stiff peaks.
  4. Place a bar spoon upside down over the coffee with the tip touching the surface. Slowly pour the cream over the back of the spoon to create a distinct layer.
