Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg (50g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp (15g) cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp (2g) baking powder
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/4 cup (50g) colored sanding sugar
- 32 pieces (280g) Hershey’s Kisses
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the sanding sugar until evenly coated.
- Arrange cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are set but the tops remain pale.
- Immediately upon removing from the oven, press one Hershey’s Kiss firmly into the center of each warm cookie.
- Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving.
