Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 strips thick-cut bacon, diced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Rinse the green beans and pat them completely dry with a clean kitchen towel to ensure a crispy texture.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the dried green beans with extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper until every bean is evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Scatter the diced raw bacon pieces evenly over the beans.
- Roast in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the beans are tender-crisp with charred edges and the bacon begins to sizzle.
- Remove from the oven, toss the beans to coat in bacon fat. Sprinkle the finely grated parmesan cheese over the top, and return to the oven for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
