Air Fryer Fish & Chips

Air Fryer Fish & Chips

Ingredients:
400g white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
100g plain flour
1 egg, beaten
150g breadcrumbs
1 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
500g potatoes, cut into chips
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Lemon wedges, for serving
Tartar sauce, for serving
Instructions:

Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F). Toss the potato chips with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking until they are golden and crispy.
Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with the beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, salt, and pepper.
Coat the Fish: Dredge each fish fillet in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten egg, and then coat evenly with the breadcrumb mixture.
Cook the Fish: Lightly grease the air fryer basket with the remaining oil. Place the coated fish fillets in the basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook at 200°C (390°F) for 8-10 minutes until golden and cooked through, flipping halfway.
Serve: Serve the air-fried fish with the chips, lemon wedges, and tartar sauce on the side.
