Juicy Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Burgers

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
Salt and pepper to taste
4 slices bacon, cooked until crispy
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard
Directions:

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape them into thin patties.
Season one side of 4 patties with salt and pepper.
Place a slice of cooked bacon and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese onto each of the 4 seasoned patties.
Top each bacon and cheese-topped patty with one of the remaining plain patties, pressing the edges together to seal.
Season the outside of each stuffed burger with salt and pepper.
Place the stuffed burgers on the preheated grill or grill pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the burgers reach your desired level of doneness.
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, until lightly golden.
Remove the stuffed burgers and toasted buns from the grill.
Assemble the burgers by placing each stuffed patty on a toasted bun and adding your favorite toppings.
