Savory Swirl Beef Buns
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tbsp olive oil
1 batch homemade or store-bought pizza dough
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds for garnish
Fresh lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and red onion for serving
Sour cream and chives for topping
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook the ground beef with garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until browned. Stir in tomato sauce and set aside to cool.
Roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the cooked beef evenly on top, leaving a small margin around the edges.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
Starting from the long side, roll the dough into a log. Cut into 1-inch thick slices.
Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring there is space between each for expansion.
Brush the top of each bun with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds over them.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the buns are golden brown.
Serve with fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, a dollop of sour cream, and chives.
