Mexico has hit back with tariffs of their own after Trump hit the country with a 25 percent levy on imports into the US today.
President Claudia Sheinbaum isn’t backing down to Donald Trump as the US and Mexico continue to clash over trading goods.
This comes after Trump signed off on an order to ‘hold China, Mexico and Canada accountable for their promises to halt the flood of poisonous drugs into the US’ by placing 25 percent tariffs on goods imported from Canada and Mexico, and 10 percent on China, which has since been doubled to 20 percent after China retaliated with their own tariffs.
On Tuesday (March 4), Sheinbaum announced that her country will respond to this move with its own retaliatory tariffs on US goods.
However, Sheinbaum did not yet reveal what those goods would be. She explained that this announcement will come on Sunday (March 9) at a public event in Mexico City’s central plaza.

This has given people hope that there is still a route of de-escalation possible.
Speaking on the trade war between the two nations, she said: “There is no motive or reason, nor justification that supports this decision that will affect our people and our nations.”
She continued: “It’s inconceivable that they don’t think about the damage this is going to cause to United States citizens and businesses with the increase in prices for things produced in our country.
“Also the damage it will cause by stopping job creation in both countries. No one wins with this decision.”
Sheinbaum has also addressed the ‘fact sheet’ that was published by the White House on March 3 where it claimed that Mexican drug traffickers persist because of ‘an intolerable relationship with the government Mexico’.

Sheinbaum dismissed it and called it ‘offensive, defamatory and without support’.
She also argued that her administration has had many success in its war against the cartels highlighting that they have seized over a ton of fentanyl and have successfully been able to dismantle 329 methamphetamine labs.
The Mexican president also reiterated that the government was cooperating with the US government to combat the cartels and as recent as last week had sent 29 alleged drug cartel criminals requested by the country.
She added: “We collaborate to avoid illegal drug trafficking to the United States, but as we have said on multiple occasions, that country’s government must take responsibility too for the crisis of opioid consumption that has caused so many deaths in the United States.”

The suspect in the second alleged assassination attempt of Donald Trump wrote a note revealing his intentions to kill the former President.

Now, the US Justice Department has said that the 58-year-old left a note titled ‘Dear World’, which explained he intended to kill Trump.
It was penned months before Routh allegedly travelled to the golf course in Florida and dropped off at the home of an unnamed person, who got in touch with authorities after Routh’s arrest.
The note allegedly also contained a list of locations where Trump was expected to be.
It was placed in a box, which remained unopened until after the alleged assassination attempt, along with ammunition, a metal pipe and other items.
According to prosecutors, Routh’s phone had alerted towers near Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, where the Republican had been playing at the time.

A court filing stated that his phone had repeatedly pinged towers, which reveals where your cell phone is at any current time, from August 18 until September 15.
On Twitter in 2020, Routh expressed support for Democratic US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and mocked President Joe Biden as ‘sleepy Joe’, according to Reuters.
Earlier this year, Routh tagged Biden in a post on Twitter: “@POTUS Your campaign should be called something like KADAF. Keep America democratic and free.
“Trumps should be MASA …make Americans slaves again master. DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.”
It is believed to be the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life in just three months.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was shot dead after he attempted to assassinate Donald Trump earlier this year (Bethel Park School District)
On July 13, Trump came within milliseconds of death after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at him at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, from the slanted roof of a building just 150 meters to his right.
It resulted in the death of father-of-two volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore, and critically injured two others.
The presidential candidate didn’t get away unscathed though, as one of the multiple bullets fired struck him, grazing the top of his right ear.
Crooks, a kitchen worker, was armed with an AR-style rifle when he was shot dead by the Secret Service 26 seconds after he opened fire on the rally.

As you probably already know, Kanye West is no stranger to controversy.
West has been the talk of Hollywood of late after his wife, Bianca Censori, rocked up to the Grammys last weekend wearing a completely see-through dress with no underwear.
Censori quickly went on to become one of the most Googled people on Earth, according to the rapper, who sported a much less revealing ensemble to Sunday night’s star-studded affair.

Now, in another controversial move, West has been playing on his apparent friendship with Donald Trump, whom he publicly supported as president over the years.
Currently, disgraced music star Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is being held without bail until his trial in May.
Combs is facing serious criminal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution – all of which he denies.
While he campaigned for bail, a New York judge branded the Combs ‘a serious flight risk’ and has denied his applications.

But it appears West is now campaigning for his freedom as well, and took to Twitter to appeal to Trump.
“PLEASE FREE MY BROTHER PUFF,” read one of his tweets that Trump was tagged in.
West also seemed to refer to Combs as his ‘hero’ and ‘idol’ in another X-rated post.
“THEY TRYNA PROVE A POINT AND YALL KNOW THAT,” he wrote. “YALL F***ING KNOW THAT AND SITTING LAUGHING AT THE F***ING INTERNET ON INSTAGRAM. THIS MAN GAVE HIS LIFE TO US. THIS MY IDOL. THIS MY HERO.”
A third tweet by West read: “PUFF GET ONE CALL A MORNING.”

As well as criminal charges, Diddy is facing a series of civil suits from alleged victims.
In a recent filing, a former adult entertainer in Las Vegas claimed Combs instructed him to ‘perform acts that were outside the scope of the agreed-upon performance and limitations set by plaintiff and his agency’.
“Combs dehumanised plaintiff and reduced him to a mere object for Combs’ own amusement and to satisfy his own sexual fetishes,” the suit goes on to allege.
“Combs gravely exploited plaintiff, effectively imprisoning him and controlling him through surreptitious surveillance and filming.”
Combs’ lawyer has since denied the additional allegations the music mogul is facing.
His lawyer told Rolling Stone: “No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex-trafficked anyone – man or woman, adult or minor.
“Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to separate fact from fiction, and Mr Combs is confident that he will prevail in court.”
Police have issued an update for Hannah Kobayashi and explained that the young woman is ‘voluntarily missing’.
Hannah Kobayashi was traveling from her home in Maui, Hawaii, to get a connecting flight to New York via Los Angeles back in November but never boarded her flight at LAX.
This caused a stir amongst her family who eventually traveled to the city to look for her before placing a missing person’s report.
LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell held a press conference about Kobayashi’s disappearance and gave a crucial update about the woman on Monday (Dec 2).
In the police briefing, the Los Angeles police confirmed that they had spotted Kobayashi on video surveillance.
Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said: “As the family is aware, late yesterday after traveling to the US-Mexico border we reviewed video surveillance from US Customs and Border Protection which clearly shows Kobayashi crossing United States border on foot into Mexico.”
As well as this, the police also gave a run down of the timeline of Kobyashi’s disappearance, however, her family has taken issue with this.
He said: “On November 8, 23 year-old Hannah Kobayashi missed her connecting flight from LAX to New York which the investigation determined was intentional.
“Over the next few days she maintained contact with her family and was active on Instagram.

Police have said they have seen CCTV of Hannah (ABC10)
“However, the family last heard from Hannah on November 11 after receiving concerning text messages and losing further contact her family traveled to LA on November 13 and filed a missing person report.”
“On November 15, our missing person’s unit assumed investigative responsibility, detectives have been diligently reviewing video surveillance and employing various investigative technique to locate Hannah, while her family has continued their personal search efforts.
“Tragically on November 24, during the search for his daughter, Hannah’s father Ryan Kobayashi was found deceased.
“Preliminary findings indicate his death was by suicide.”
However, according to the New York Post, Kobayashi’s family have ‘vehemently’ denied McDonnell’s findings.

Police say they have no evidence of any criminal activity (Larie Ingrum/Facebook)
They also took issue with the fact that he gave the incorrect age for the missing woman, stating she was 23-years-old not 30.
They also took issue with the timeline stating that the police gave incorrect dates for when she was reported missing.
Police also dismissed that, at this point, the idea that Kobayashi is involved in any criminal activity.
McDonnell also said: “To date the investigation has not uncovered any evidence that Kobayashi is being trafficked or is the victim of foul play. She is also not a suspect in any criminal activity,” McDonnell said.
“She has a right to her privacy, and we respect her choices but we also understand that the concern her loved ones feel for her.”

Yung Gravy has shared ‘the moment of truth’ after Hawk Tuah ‘lied’ about their interactions.
As I sit here wondering what on earth life has come to that the news is filled with names such as Yung Gravy and ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl and thinking how on earth I’d explain it all to my grandpa if he was still alive, the viral duo have seemingly put an end to their drama – if you realized that there was any drama going on at all.
Since finding viral fame after revealing what she does to really get the boys going, Hawk Tuah girl – real name Haliey Welch – was interviewed by TMZ about ‘anyone new’ she’s been interacting with.
In a clip shared to Twitter, Welch can be seen revealing that she’s been in touch with Yung Gravy – full name Matthew Raymond Hauri – and when asked whether she thinks he was trying to ‘get with’ her, she replied: “He wants to take me on a date and I was like, ‘Arghh I don’t know about that’.”
Yung Gravy then shared an insight into his interaction with Welch in his Instagram DMs to back up his recollection of events.
The alleged screenshot of the Instagram DM conversation between Welch and Yung Gravy sees Welch reach out to the rapper on July 31 at 1:44am messaging: “Hello sir.”
The musician then replies in the form of three messages, writing: “Damn I just looked at ur page u really out here doing this s**t lol congrats.
“When i went to find ur page i was fr just tryna salute u for being a certified top champ. Oh and this aint just me trying to finesse cause idk ur mans situation <3 but i wanted to have u at a show next month to hear my country s**t.”
Welch responds: “When is it?”
Welch later shared her own screenshots of the chat and Yung Gravy has since responded to all the drama.

In his own interview with TMZ, the singer-songwriter admitted to sliding into Welch’s DMs.
He continued: “I wanted to show her some love, I saw people hating on her and you know, being mad negative. All she’s doing is talking about sex and doing it the right way. That’s what I do and no one’s mad about that.
“I think I invited her to a show, I don’t believe I mentioned a date.”
He added he ‘didn’t even ask her on a date’ so doesn’t know why she’d have said ‘no’.
Before carrying on his way, Yung Gravy added he believes ‘women deserve their own Hawk Tuah,’ resolving: “For all the boys out there, if I’m going down on a woman, we’ll call it the splash stallion.”
Congratulations if you made it through the action the rapper did next without getting seriously awkward and having to look away.
And it’s not taken long for social media users to weigh in on it all.
One Twitter user said: “I feel like you both have the same representation and this is just a big pr thing for you both to come together and squash it.”
Referring to Yung Gravy’s enactment of the so-called ‘splash stallion,’ another wrote: “The last moment sent me.”
