The time is finally here, and while we haven’t quite got our hands on a physical or even digital copy of the next Grand Theft Auto, GTA 6 is closer than ever. Teaching us that patience is a virtue, it’s been a whopping 12 years since GTA V was released and introduced us to the legendary trio of Michel De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips.
More than going on to become one of the biggest games of all time in terms of sales (only beaten by Minecraft), it’s the most profitable entertainment product of all time. While it might seem like a tall order to top GTA V‘s $8.5 billion revenue, GTA 6 is already off to a good start as its pre-orders quietly go live.
Despite only having a single trailer for GTA 6 back in December 2023, Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games have been letting the automotive adventure market itself.

GTA 6 pre-orders are live without having a release date (Gamers Hideout)
Even though the game has been plagued by leaks and had to release its trailer early because that also made its way online through unofficial channels, GTA 6 seems like an unstoppable machine.
The trailer became the most-watched YouTube video in the first 24 hours post-release, and with Take-Two repeatedly confirming the title is coming before the end of the year, the power of GTA 6 is so big, that it looks like rivals are moving their games.
If you want to lock in your GTA 6 pre-order, it’s not quite that simple. You might want to book a plane ticket because Malaysian site Gamers Hideout now has a pre-order option for GTA 6. Gaming fans can also head into a store and pick up an empty box, then head to the counter and put down a deposit of RM14.90 (around $3) to secure their copy of GTA 6.
It’s important to note that Rockstar and Take-Two haven’t given us an official release date, although there are continued rumors that a second trailer could drop at any moment and confirm the all-important date to mark in our diaries.
That said, we’ve been expecting another trailer pretty much since the first one landed.
As for GTA 6‘s sales, market research firm DFC Intelligence suggests it will make $1 billion in pre-orders alone. As reported by the Financial Times, GTA 6 is expected to hit the milestone way ahead of GTA V making $1 billion three days after release.
Added to this, DFC muses that the next outing will make $3.2 billion in revenue in its first 12 months, which works out to double what GTA V made in the same period. Remembering that Avatar is the highest-grossing movie of all time and has made just $2.9 million in 16 years, it’s quite the feat if GTA 6 gets anywhere near these predictions.
Still, we don’t even have a price tag for GTA 6 yet and many are rightly sweating about rumors it could cost up to $100. Then again, with it poised to be the biggest game of all time and sure to have a lifespan as long as GTA V, that’s plenty of bang for your buck.

As we sit and wait patiently for more official news on Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s baffling to think we’ve only had a single trailer back in December 2023.
GTA publisher Take-Two Interactive has repeatedly reassured us that the next chapter of the automotive adventure is definitely coming before the end of 2025.
The problem is, with GTA 6 leaks coming out years before Rockstar Games even officially announced the title, we were arguably fed too well.
Things like a female protagonist and return to Vice City were spoiled ahead of time, while Rockstar even had to drop the trailer early when it leaked from an unknown source.
It sometimes feels like we’re being punished thanks to the actions of leakers, but as we head toward GTA 6‘s (unannounced) release date, some sort of big reveal is surely just around the corner…surely.
With so little to go on, we’re lost in a sea of rumors and asking questions about the likes of a potential price tag and whether GTA 6 will be getting a PC release.
We’ve been tossed a morsel, with GTA 6 apparently going hard on user-created content as part of its multiplayer offering.

If we were over at Epic Games, we’d be keeping our ears close to the ground right now.
The Fortnite overlord has made a big push into creating a much wider world as part of its Fortnite Experiences initiative that kicked off in March 2023.
The release of the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) has been praised for ushering in the new era of Fortnite Creative 2.0 which includes everything from LEGO Fortnite to Rocket Racing.
Even though many of you still stick to the standard Battle Royale mode, Fortnite Experiences has hit its brief of offering itself to a much wider demographic.
A new report from Digiday claims that GTA 6 will attempt to replicate the successes of Fortnite and Roblox.
Three anonymous sources suggest that Rockstar is talking to top Fortnite, Roblox, and GTA creators about how to make its online contingent the next big creator platform. The outlet writes: “These experiences would allow creators to modify the game’s environment and assets to bring their own intellectual property — and potentially their brand sponsors — into ‘GTA’s’ virtual sandbox.”
It’s unclear what would lure user-generated content creators to this evolved version of GTA Online, but typically, UGC creators make money by taking a cut of virtual items being sold or via revenue share programs.
As Digiday points out, GTA V content creators can make some serious money after Rockstar purchased the FiveM role-playing modifier that lets people charge a monthly subscription in exchange for the likes of cosmetics and priority access to RP servers.
When the X account Drama Alert wrote, “RIP Fortnite and Roblox,” others remained split on whether GTA 6 will clear the competition.
One skeptic said: “Nah Fortnite will colab with GTA they ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.”
Another added, “Y’all been saying RIP Fortnite for 5 years now and it’s still here lmao,” and a third said, “It’s doubtful that they will have a massive hit, as they primarily cater to a younger audience, while GTA remains an R-rated title.”
Of course, the adult content of GTA is aimed at a very different audience to the family-friendly world of Roblox. It’s not like you can kick blocky prostitutes and hold up a block bank with a pixelated shotgun in Roblox.

Millions of gamers could soon be rejoicing with a surprise release from Grand Theft Auto.
Fans of the video game have been waiting for the next installment for a whopping 12 years, after GTA 5 was dropped back in September 2013.
Now, GTA 6 is finally set to be released in the autumn of this year, but there’s a catch.

Fans have been waiting 12 years for the release (Rockstar Games)
So far, it has only been announced that it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
This has left PC users wondering how long they’ll have to wait for the game.
While it hasn’t been confirmed whether the game will be released on PC at all, Strauss Zelnick, who is the boss of Take Two, which is Rockstar Games’ parent company, has teased it.
Speaking to IGN, he said: “So with Civ 7 (Civilization 7) it’s available on console and PC and Switch right away.
“With regard to others in our lineup, we don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”
While this sounds like an eventual PC release is certainly on the cards, it could actually end up being much sooner than fans may expect.
Zelnick went on to say: “We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that trend continue. Of course, there will be a new console generation.”
He added: “When you have a big title in the market and we have many of them coming, historically that has sold consoles.
“And I think that will happen this year. I don’t think tariffs are going to be our friend, but I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others.
“So I’m not concerned about that [console sales falling]. I think the trend that you’d want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC.”
So, how long will PC fans have to wait before GTA 6 is released?
Well, given that the game is due to come out in the fall of 2025, it seems like that PC fans will receive it in 2026 at the earliest.
Either way, Zelnick has claimed that the game’s release will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time.

It’s the start of a new year, and with it, it’s time to get psyched for more Grand Theft Auto rumors…again.
2025 is a stacked one for video games, with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Elden Ring Nightreign being among just some of its biggest releases. Still, we imagine all of these are steering well clear of a certain automotive adventure that’s set to wipe the floor with the competition.
It’s been 12 years since GTA V was released, and with it going on to become the most profitable entertainment product of all time, it’s no surprise that there are high hopes its long-awaited sequel could top it. After all, the world of video games has come a long way since 2013.

Gamers are still waiting for the second GTA 6 trailer (Rockstar Games)
Rockstar Games seems to know what it’s doing with GTA 6, having released just one trailer in December 2023 and it breaking records.
Despite a massive September 2022 leak revealing a ton of details like protagonist Lucia and a return to Vice City, Rockstar hasn’t let it get in the way of GTA 6 setting itself up as the biggest game of all time.
Now, it seems the call could be coming from within the house as the latest GTA 6 leak might’ve come from Rockstar itself.
As reported by Eurogamer, a Reddit post giving us a closer look at GTA 6 has gone viral.
Seemingly taken a picture within the Rockstar offices, it’s supposedly the desktop of an employee, featuring gameplay of Lucia. Anyone who’s played a GTA game will recognize the third-person style, but apart from seeing Lucia from behind, it’s not exactly giving much away.
You at least get a look at the game’s lighting style and what looks like a storage depot, but apart from that, it’s hardly anything to write home about.
Added to this, the original poster claims this image comes from 2021, meaning things will likely look completely different now. The first trailer was purely cinematic, and as the 2022 leaks were said to be outdated, everyone is pining for a proper look at GTA 6‘s gameplay.
Although leaks are one thing, we’re still no closer to getting a second trailer. As the clock ticks down to the game’s mythical release date, it’s increasingly frustrating that it feels like we know so much and so little about GTA 6. Publisher Take-Two Interactive has repeatedly locked in a ‘fall 2025’ GTA 6 release date, meaning as long as those rumored delays don’t kick in, we’ll all be playing before Christmas and it’ll be the biggest thing since sliced bread this time next year. Tune in next time for another vague GTA leak.

Fans have been left disappointed after popular GTA 6 tweet theory is disproven, leaving many to wonder if the game will stick to its current release year.
It certainly wouldn’t be an understatement to claim that Rockstar Games‘ Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated upcoming game release, both if it sticks to its current release window of ‘Fall 2025’, or whether it suffers what some consider to be an inevitable delay at this point.
The hype from fans is off the charts at this point, and they’re starved for any form of content following on from the reveal trailer released back in December 2023.
The first trailer was announced back on December 1, 2023 (Rockstar Games)
General excitement, bundles of hype, and the looming Take-Two earnings call managed to convince some fans that a second trailer for GTA 6 would be on its way, with November 5 earmarked as the day to look forward to.
This has, unfortunately, been proven to be an incorrect prediction though, leaving any wannabe Nostradamus in the dust. Instead, the official Rockstar Games X (formerly Twitter) account simply posted about a Trader Bonuses event for Red Dead Online – rather disappointing in comparison.
Many users have voiced their frustration to this announcement in the replies, with one user angrily demanding “DROP GTA 6 TRAILER 2 PLEASE,” while another claiming that “this has been the driest year for gaming ever” due to the news – or lack thereof.
The frustration has spread to Reddit too, with users on the r/GTA6 subreddit reacting similarly to the disappointing news.
Some are seeing a bit of optimism in the darkness though, as one user argues: “Rockstar will always disappoint us until they do not.”
The award-winning developer certainly has a reputation for living up to the hype, so it’s understandable if some fans are willing to suffer momentary frustration if they can feel something good looming in the future.
This, of course, hasn’t stopped more theories from emerging though, as many have also pointed out that the announcement of GTA 6’s first trailer was preceded by another Red Dead Online post. While this would be quite the coincidence, it’s hard not to get swept up in the optimism!
However, some good news has come out from the Take-Two earnings call in the meantime. It has been reaffirmed by the game’s publisher that everything’s still on schedule for a Fall 2025 launch, so it’s surely only a matter of time now until we get to see more of the game and eventually return to Vice City ourselves.
