Elon Musk has gone viral once again, with the eccentric billionaire leaving fans ‘disturbed’ by a clip where he appears to leave his son behind.
The parenting skills of the world’s richest man have recently been called into question, with MAGA influencer Ashley St. Clair spectacularly claiming that Elon Musk has secretly fathered a child with her. Elsewhere, ex-partner Grimes made a public plea for Musk to get in touch with her over a ‘medical emergency’ involving one of their children.
St. Clair is now going after sole custody amid claims that Musk has no involvement with her child, and while Grimes has deleted her posts, she has previously called out the head of the Department of Government Efficiency for ‘parading’ their son, X, around the Oval Office.

Although the details surrounding their custody battle are kept under wraps, Grimes and Musk are the parents of X, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, and Techno Mechanicus. Musk seems particularly close with X, but in a resurfaced video, millions have seen the billionaire seemingly leave his own behind.
Thought to be from a MAGA rally in January, the clip shows Musk walking down a metal staircase as four-year-old X walks behind him. Instead of turning back for his son, Musk carries on walking while waving to the crowd.
As X struggles to walk down the stairs, he also waves to the crowd. Musk walks away and as the camera pans back, X is out of shot. It’s unclear what happened next, but before the camera stopped rolling, it didn’t look like anyone was coming to the young kid’s aid.
Over on social media, many suggested that Musk won’t be winning any Father of the Year awards following this display.
With many saying they expected this kind of behavior from Musk, one critic on Reddit said: “Well he uses him as a shield. Don’t need it as much when you’re no longer on stage.”
Another added: “Of course he did. Attention span of a gnat. Of no further transactional use to him at that moment. Of course someone else will pick up, assumed.”
Someone else concluded: “This gives me the impression that Elon has a coat rack at home where he plops his children by the scruff onto after he’s done using them as a human shield every time he goes out.”
This video emerges just days after Elon’s own father referred to the tech mogul as a ‘bad’ father. Discussing the incident where Elon’s first child died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old, Errol Musk said, “No, he hasn’t been a good dad. The first child was too much with nannies and died in the care of a nanny.
“Now what I’m saying, if Elon hears this, he’s going to shoot me or something, but anyway, that’s what I think.”
With many saying that X is Musk’s ‘favorite’ child, others are questioning what the rest get treated like.

Elon Musk’s former partner Grimes has spoken out against her son’s appearance in the Oval Office on social media, expressing her frustration that the billionaire seemingly isn’t respecting her wishes.
Grimes has had somewhat of a complicated relationship with Elon Musk following their decision to separate in September 2021 after parenting their first child together, X Æ A-12, now officially known as just ‘X’.
They have since welcomed two further children despite being separated, albeit via surrogate, and have also engaged in a lengthy custody battle that only reached its resolution in late 2024.
She has recently offered her own perspective following allegations that Musk performed a Nazi salute at the presidential inauguration, has backed up his gaming achievements in the face of cheating allegations, and also slammed ‘power hungry warlords’ in a statement that some implied was targeted at the Tesla CEO.
Following the appearance of X alongside his father in the Oval Office, where he was quizzed over a ‘hostile takeover’ of the US government, Grimes has once again taken to social media to criticize her co-parent.
“He should not be in public like this,” claimed Grimes. “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
This came after a follower pointed X’s appearance out to her, remarking that he was “so cute” and “very polite” in his trip to see US President Donald Trump.
What appears to be the most pertinent part of her statement is the notion that her son ‘shouldn’t be in public’, which one can perhaps infer to be a part of the resolution to their custody dispute in November 2024.
As reported by Business Insider, it’s unclear how the court case actually ended, although Grimes revealed in a now-deleted post that she has custody of her children every other week.

What appears to have been a common occurrence across the past few months though is Elon Musk with his son upon his shoulders, as he’s taken him to a wide variety of business events including SpaceX launches and political events.
It’s clear that this bothers Grimes, and she has previously claimed that she “didn’t see one of my babies for 5 months” before the end of the custody lawsuit, as the father of her children and so-called ‘love of her life’ “becomes unrecognizable to me.”
Many on social media have claimed that X is a ‘prop’ for Musk to parade around, arguing that it’s ‘inappropriate’ for Musk to parade him around.
“Honestly my heart sank when I saw him in the Oval Office,” reads one comment in reply to Grimes’ original post, adding that “this must be so tough for you.”

Elon Musk made quite the entrance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) yesterday (20 February).
The Tesla CEO swung a chainsaw around on stage at the Conservative Political Action Committee as he met with Argentinian President Javier Milei.
The billionaire was gifted the chainsaw, by far-right president Milei who’s known for famously hoisting a chainsaw in his own country.
Trump’s close advisor then proceeded to wave it around as the crowd cheered loudly.
After Milei left the stage, Musk got into a heated discussion with Newsmax host Rob Schmitt.
They covered Musk’s concerns over personal security, his goal to tour Fort Knox and review the US gold depository and his journey from political neutrality to being a Trump megadonor. Schmitt asked the SpaceX founder what it was like ‘inside the mind of a genius.’
Musk took a moment before replying: “My mind is a storm. It’s a storm.”
The two criticised the Democrats and labelled them as ‘horrible people’ and then things got a bit more heated when the topic of NASA and the Biden administration came up.
The host questioned Musk’s claim that the White House – under Biden administration – deliberately ‘stranded’ two US astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) after their Boeing spacecraft was de-orbited without them. According to the world’s richest man, the government refused to let SpaceX bring them home just to avoid giving him credit.
Musk said he ‘absolutely’ the astronauts were abandoned by their government. “We obviously could have brought them back sooner, but they didn’t want to do what anyone who supported President Trump wanted,” he stated.
Although, this claim has been repeatedly disputed by NASA and the astronauts who were involved.

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been on the ISS since last June, are scheduled to return to Earth next month.
Earlier in the day, the billionaire got into an online spat with former ISS commander, European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Andreas Mogensen.
The ESA astronaut wrote on X: “What a lie. And from someone who complains about lack of honesty from the mainstream media.”
Musk retaliated with a vicious commented: “You are fully r*****ed.”
Mogensen then replied: “You know as well as I do, that Butch and Suni are returning with Crew-9, as has been the plan since last September.
“Even now, you are not sending up a rescue ship to bring them home. They are returning on the Dragon capsule that has been on ISS since last September.”
In an era when free speech and misinformation continue to duke it out, Elon Musk has come under fire for his latest appearance at the White House. The world’s richest man is firmly at the side of President Donald Trump, and while he might have failed to secure an office at the White House, he’s wasted no time in showing how much power he has the potential to wield.
The father of 12 was called to task over claims that the Biden administration had earmarked $50 million of USAid aid to distribute condoms to the Gaza Strip.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt mentioned the figure as the current administration put a freeze on almost all US foreign aid.
Leavitt said the figure had been discovered by the Department of Government Efficiency, with Musk calling it “the tip of the iceberg” on X.

It comes after Musk has settled into his position as the head of the DOGE in an attempt to slash $2 trillion from government spending. Even though Musk has admitted it might not be possible, he’s seemingly trying his hardest to make it happen. The National Space Council and USAid have already been gutted, while the Department of Education is also in the firing line and Musk has been accused of a ‘hostile takeover’ of the government.
Speaking to The Times of Isreal, Andrew Miller, who served as deputy assistant secretary for Israeli-Palestinian affairs under former US president Joe Biden, referred to the condom claims as outlandish and reiterated: “It’s possible that $50 million is put aside for sexual health or something of that nature, which would include gynecology and many other services, but definitely not condoms alone.”
Appearing in his first press conference on February 11, Musk sported a black Make America Great Again cap and appeared alongside his son, X Æ A-Xii (who he calls X). With X on his shoulders, Musk was pressed on how his mention of $50 million worth of condoms being sent to Gaza was referring to the Gaza Province in Mozambique, with the aim being to protect against HIV.
The head of the DOGE admitted: “Well, first of all, some of the things that I say will be incorrect and should be corrected. So nobody’s going to bat a thousand. I mean, any, you know, we will make mistakes but will act quickly to correct any mistakes.”
He went on to tell the press at the White House: “I’m not sure we should be sending $50 million worth of condoms to anywhere, frankly. I’m not sure that’s something Americans would be really excited about.”
As President Trump chuckled from the sidelines, Musk concluded: “That is really an enormous number of condoms when you think about it, but if it went to Mozambique instead of Gaza, I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s not as bad.'”
The journalist who asked the original question had quizzed Musk on how we could fact-check everything he says and trust his claims of fraud within the government.
Defending his actions, Musk has since reposted the interaction alongside a caption reading: “$50M of condoms is a LOT of condoms.”

It will be fascinating to look back and study the arc of Elon Musk. How did one man go from making $175.8 million from the sale of PayPal to founding SpaceX, fathering three children Grimes, and donating to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign while saying Donald Trump shouldn’t be the President? Then, finds himself sitting by the President’s side as he heads up the Department of Government Efficiency and seemingly bleeds Republican while he wears a black Make America Great Again hat.
Somewhere between all of this, Musk has continued business ventures like the purchase and rebranding of Twitter as X, continued to push forward with Tesla‘s EV future, and even found time to squeeze in a cameo or two.

In the clip, Howard is star-struck by running into Musk, who is pretty nonchalant about the whole thing. There are jokes about being too generous with the gravy and trips to Mars, but in the comments, plenty are saying that something feels a little off.
There’s been a massive rise in artificial intelligence and deepfakes in the 10 years since Musk appeared on The Big Bang Theory, but rewatching the clip, some are convinced Musk was using it back then.
One skeptic wrote: “There’s something off and weird about Elon’s face and his head movements. I thought this was AI. Is this real? What’s going on here?”
Another added, “Yeah it’s super weird that it looks AI. Makes me question everything,” and a third said, “He just has the same air about him as Mark Zuckerberg. poorly made animatronics posing as humans (jk but they do look like that).”
Someone else shared their concerns that it’s getting increasingly hard to tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not as they concluded: “If one more old man says he can’t tell the difference between AI and real life I’m gonna lose my mind 😵💫.”
