Shocking footage has revealed how the Delta Airlines flight that crash-landed in Toronto on Monday (February 17) somehow flipped upside-down.
Flight 4819 crashed and flipped upside down while trying to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada, after taking off from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
80 people were onboard the flight (76 passengers and four crew members), though every person evacuated safely, according to officials.
At least 18 people have been transported to hospital with injuries, however.
Three people are reported as suffering critical injuries, according to medical transport company Ornge, The Independent reports.

Their identities have not yet been publicly released, however, they are reported as being a child, woman in her 40s, and man in his 60s.
Footage of the flight touching down in Canada is circulating on Twitter after it was uploaded by the social media user ‘airmainengineer’.
The clip reveals the plane landed, before the back end immediately bellowed into a ball of fire and smoke.
The aircraft continues to glide down the runway, with a shadow of smoke being left in its path.
After seeing that, many online are under the impression that it’s remarkable no one onboard lost their life.
“Goodness….this must be one of the craziest things seen”, one person penned after seeing the footage, while a second added: “That is insane! So glad everyone survived!”
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement: “The NTSB is leading a team of U.S. investigators to assist the Transportation Safety Board of Canada with their investigation of today’s accident of a Delta Air Lines Bombardier CRJ900 at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
“Per international protocols under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Annex 13, any information about the investigation will be released by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.”

Meanwhile, Delta CEO Ed Bastian said, as quoted by The Independent: “The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport.
“I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site.”
A recording from ‘LiveATC.net’ revealed an air traffic controller in conversation with the Delta Airlines plane’s pilots prior to the crash, with the controller stating: “Endeavor Air 4819. Turn right heading 210. Descent to 3,000. Cleared ILS 23 approach.”
Another voice responds: “Alright heading 210. Down to 3,000. Cleared through the ILS, 23. Endeavor 4819.”
However, air traffic control then warns of winds measuring ’27’ and gusts ’33’ adding despite the plane being ‘cleared to land Runway 23,’ it ‘may get a slight bump’ and ‘there will be an aircraft in front of it’.
The crash then occurs after that, with a voice confirming the plane has ‘crashed’ and emergency services are ‘needed’.

Emergency services are dealing with an ‘incident’ after a Delta Airlines plane crash landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The airport has said in a statement: “Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for.”
AFA-CWA, the association of flight attendants, wrote on Twitter: “Our union is responding to an incident in Toronto with Delta Air Lines Endeavor Flight 4819. AFA crew were working this flight. Reports are there are no fatalities. Please do not speculate on this incident as everyone works to gather information and support those involved.”
Meanwhile, Constable Sarah Patten of the Peel Regional Police in Ontario said: “It is my understanding that most of the passengers are out and unharmed but we’re still trying to make sure so we’re still on scene investigating.”
Delta Flight 4819 took off from Minneapolis earlier today, and videos circulating online appear to show the aircraft flipped on its side on an extremely snowy runway.
Local media, including CP24, say at least eight people have been left injured as a result of the crash – though the severity of these injuries have not been confirmed.
80 people were apparently on the flight.
The Toronto area had nine inches of snow over the weekend, according to the New York Post, which forced officials to clear the runway on Sunday (February 16) for service on Monday (February 17).

It comes just a matter of weeks after an American Airlines commercial plane crashed in Washington DC.
The commercial airline plane was coming to land at Ronald Reagan National Airport on January 29 when it collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter.
All 64 passengers on the plane died along with the three people on the helicopter.
Both aircraft crashed into the Potomac River and a massive search got underway to check for survivors before it turned into a body recovery mission.
The American Airlines Flight 5342 recorder showed a difference in reported altitude readings between the plane and helicopter upon collision.
According to the NTSB, data recovered from the flight recorder inside the plane claimed it was cruising at about 325 feet, with a 25-foot margin of error on either side, despite air traffic control tower data suggesting the military helicopter was flying at an altitude of about 200 feet when it collided with the commercial plane.
A recording from air traffic control moments after a Delta Airlines plane crashed and flipped on its head has been released.
Yesterday (February 17) at around 3:30pm Eastern time, Delta Airlines Flight 4819 crashed and flipped upside down while trying to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada, after taking off from the US in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
All 76 passengers and four members of crew are reported as having been safely evacuated, however, at least 18 were injured and transported to hospital, officials say.
Delta News Hub said in a statement shared to Twitter: “Initial reports were that there are no fatalities. Several customers with injuries were transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted.”

Indeed Pearson CEO Deborah Flint confirmed there was ‘no loss of life,’ however, medical transport company Ornge did report three people suffered critical injuries.
Several passengers took to social media to share footage of the incident, one from inside the plane moments after it flipped over.
And audio from air traffic control has revealed the moment a controller alerted there’d been ‘a crash on runway two’.
Shared by ABC News, the recording shows a controller notify there are ‘people outside walking around the aircraft there’.
“Yeah we’ve got an aircraft that is upside down and burning,” a voice confirms.
Take a listen:
A recording obtained by ‘LiveATC.net’ revealed an air traffic controller in conversation with the Delta Airlines plane’s pilots prior to the crash too, with the controller stating: “Endeavor Air 4819. Turn right heading 210. Descent to 3,000. Cleared ILS 23 approach.”
Another voice responds: “Alright heading 210. Down to 3,000. Cleared through the ILS, 23. Endeavor 4819.”
However, air traffic control then warns of winds measuring ’27’ and gusts ’33’, adding despite the plane being ‘cleared to land Runway 23,’ it ‘may get a slight bump’ and ‘there will be an aircraft in front of it’.
After another comment approving the plane as being ‘clear to land,’ the next comment is from the ‘other pilot’ who states: “We need crash fire rescue on the runway.”
A voice confirms the plane has ‘crashed’ and emergency services are ‘needed’.
Air traffic control reassures: “Yeah, we’re on it. We got someone coming out.”
Thankfully all 80 people onboard were safely rescued from the plane.
The incident remains under investigation, led by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

While some operations have resumed since, two runways will reportedly remain closed during the investigation into what happened.
Fortunately nobody died in the ordeal, and all 76 passengers and four crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
It’s thought that around 18 passengers were injured in the ordeal, however.
“We are very grateful there was no loss of life and relatively minor injuries,” Deborah Flint, chief executive of Greater Toronto Airports Authority, said of the incident.
Passengers have since been sharing harrowing footage of the aftermath of the crash, with one videoing the moment they were evacuated from the aircraft.
Pete Koukov, one of the 76 passengers, shared the video to Instagram in the hours that followed the crash.
See it here:
As he’s exiting the plane, a Delta cabin crew member tells him and others evacuating to ‘drop everything’ as people on the outside of the plane were stood waiting to help them out.
Walking away from the plane having safely jumped out, Pete turns to show the flipped aircraft as repeatedly says ‘holy f**k’.
“Yo, I was just on this f**king plane,” he goes on to say, seemingly shocked to still be alive.
He captioned the now-viral Instagram video: “Being alive feels pretty cool today.”
The video has been liked over 3.7 million times, with many taking to the comments section to express the shock about the whole situation.
