A woman has been arrested after she accidentally texted her Sheriff’s office for drugs on New Year’s Eve.
A 41-year-old woman from Bay County, Florida, was reportedly caught red handed attempting to buy drugs while driving on a suspended licence in a vehicle littered with drugs paraphernalia – all because she placed her order for fentanyl to a cop instead of her drug dealer.
According to a Bay County Sheriff’s Office, Wells had accidentally sent text messages to a narcotics investigator who ‘immediately began communicating’ with her while ‘undercover’.

The investigator set up the ‘sale’ and when she went to meet who she thought was her drug dealer at a local gas station in Panama City, she was greeted with several officers of the BCSO Special Investigations Division who arrested her instead.
According to the affidavit of her arrest, the investigator received ‘unsolicited’ messages where Wells used certain language the cop recognized from ‘training and experience to be common in attempting to purchase narcotics.’
Her message allegedly read that she needed ‘just a couple points’ – referring to 1/10th of a gram of fentanyl which she intended to buy for $45.
During her arrest, officers noted she had been driving with a suspended license and confronted her about her reason for being at the gas station.
Her car was also searched where a ‘foil’, which is used to take the drug as well as a bag with fentanyl ‘residue’, was found in the driver’s door pocket the affidavit states. Also, a separate piece of burnt foil in a trash bag on the passenger seat, digital scales, fentanyl test strips on the center console with cut straws to smoke fentanyl and another cut straw under the driver’s seat.

While Wells was put in the back of a patrol car, another officer spotted another cut straw and piece of tin foil ‘sticking out of her pocket’.
All the materials were tested which had positive results of the narcotic.
Speaking to officers, Wells reportedly claimed she was trying to purchase a small amount of fentanyl before checking into rehab that day.
The woman also reportedly stated she made the error in texting the cop after saving his number under his initials from a previous interaction, which was similar to her drug dealer.
She was then charged with unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
According to Law&Crime, Wells posted bond and was ordered not to possess or consume alcoholic drinks.
She has also been ordered to submit random urinalysis tests.
Wells is due to appear before court on January 30.

An inquest looking in to the death of a 23-year-old man in the UK heard that he died after a ‘large bag’ of cocaine ‘exploded’ in his mouth during a police raid.
The jury at the hearing at Chesterfield Coroner’s Court heard that the death took place after three police officers arrived to arrest Chad Allford, while he was at his partner’s house in the county of Derbyshire, UK, on October 27, 2021.
Officers believed Allford was involved in the supplying of drugs, so attempted to gain access through the front door of the property when they arrived.

Initial attempts to open the front door using a key failed to work, so officers PC David Bull and PC Helen Ward went round to the back of the house and came into contact with one of Allford’s friends, Ryan Simms, at the back door.
PC Ward handcuffed Simms while PC Bull approached Allford, who was standing in the kitchen.
Speaking at the hearing, per BBC News, PC Bull told jurors: “He looked at me with a very shocked expression. He raised his hand to his mouth. I saw a white powder substance explode.”
The inquest heard that Allford had attempted to swallow a ‘large bag’ of cocaine, and tried to chew the drugs in an effort to swallow them.
PC Bull is said to have ‘shouted’ at Allford to spit the drugs out, and he eventually coughed up a ’60ml by 10ml piece of solid white substance’.
During the ordeal, Allford is said to have entered a ‘panicked state’ and started to become ‘unwell very quickly’.
Shaking and unable to breathe, Allford was taken to the front of the property and laid on his side on the driveway, while officers continued to tell him to ‘spit [the drugs] out’.

Allford continued to suffer convulsions on the driveway of the property, but when they stopped, officers moved him on to his back. As his condition worsened, officers began to perform CPR until paramedics arrived.
Allford was taken to King’s Mill Hospital, but he died due to the effects of the cocaine later that day.
During the inquest, the court heard that, despite the fact Allford had tried to swallow Class A drugs, the officer making the arrest initially called for police back-up rather than an ambulance.
PC Bull was the only officer with Allford when he was first detained, and the court heard that he chose not to turn on his bodycam due to the ‘dynamic nature’ of the policing operation, nor did he inform Allford his reason for making the arrest.
PC Bull said that turning on the camera was ‘discretionary’ at that time.
Following the inquest, the jury ruled that Allford’s death was a result of misadventure, and that he died due to the effects of cocaine consumption.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has also said it found ‘no evidence’ that officers caused or contributed to his death, though it did say that failure to turn on the bodycams had ‘not complied with police policy’, BBC News reports.
A spokesperson for the police force said it will now ‘take the time to carefully consider the outcome of the inquest, along with the prevention of future deaths report when it is received, and make any necessary changes or improvements’.

Police officers in Kentucky have arrested a woman and found what appeared to be cooked body parts in her home.
Kentucky State Police announced in a press release that on Wednesday (October 9) officers received a call about a dead woman in Robertson County.
In their response, they confirmed that the call was accurate and ‘attempted to make contact with a female inside the residence but received no response’.
They then obtained a search warrant and found a woman inside the property and she was ‘taken into custody without incident’ at around 11pm at night.
32-year-old Torilena May Fields of Mount Olivet, Kentucky, has been charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Police said there may be further charges filed depending on how the investigation goes.
According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, police officers found a dismembered body and cooked body parts inside the house.
Officials were tipped off by a man who had been hired by Trudy Fields, mother of Torilena, to work on the property and do maintenance.
The man claimed that he’d arrived at the property to find the door locked and nobody answering when he walked around the house and saw a ‘dismembered human body laying behind the residence’ which he feared was Trudy.
In his call to police, he said that he was concerned that Fields was responsible for Trudy’s death.
The man claimed to police that Fields had been ‘casting spells on them and being confrontational’ when he had last seen mother and daughter together.

When police searched the property, they found that ‘multiple body parts and organs’ had been removed from the corpse and were found inside a folded up mattress on the property.
They also found blood on the back porch and across the threshold of the back door.
The investigation also found a pot in the kitchen that was ‘warm to the touch’ which contained human body parts believed to have been cooked in the oven.
Police did find the body the man had said he’d seen, with arms, legs and head removed, as well as a number of bloodstained items and drag marks in the grass outside.
The Courier-Journal also reports that the 32-year-old is due to be arraigned on the coming Monday (October 14).
Kentucky State Police troopers removed an allegedly bloodstained Fields from the property and she is currently being held in Bourbon County Detention Center.
According to ABC News, it also wasn’t clear if she had a lawyer who may speak on her behalf.
Bodycam footage caught by police in Ohio reveals what convicted murderer Mackenzie Shirilla was thinking about during her arrest for the death of her boyfriend and friend.
Shirilla was 17-years-old when the car she was driving crashed at 100mph into a building in Strongsville, Ohio on 31 July, 2022.
Shirilla’s boyfriend, 20-year-old Dominic Russo, and friend, 19-year-old Davion Flanagan, were also in the car at the time of the collision, and when officers arrived they found all three unconscious.

Russo and Flanagan ultimately died as a result of the crash, and Shirilla was arrested on November 4, 2022 as prosecutors claimed Shirilla had intentionally crashed the car to kill the two passengers.
Bodycam footage caught by officers with the Strongsville Police Department shows the moment Shirilla was arrested for the crime and placed into the back of a police car.
In the video, one officer can be seen introducing himself to Shrillia and explaining that he’s the one who’s been investigating the crash.
“You’re under arrest for aggravated murder x 2, okay?” he says.
The officer then proceeds to swap the pair of handcuffs restraining Shirilla with another pair, but the teen is instead focused on a piece of jewellery around her wrist at the time.
“Could you please be careful taking this one off so it doesn’t break the bracelet please?” she asks.
Later, Shirilla can be seen sitting in the back of a police car, where she leans over and appears to try and go to sleep.
In 2023, Shirilla was found guilty of murder, felonious assault, aggravated vehicular homicide, drug possession and possessing criminal tools.

Shirilla was described as ‘hell on wheels’ (WKYC Channel 3)
Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Margaret Russo – no relation to Dominic Russo – said the teenager had morphed from ‘a responsible driver to literal hell on wheels as she [made] her way down the street’.
“She had a mission and she executed it with precision,” the judge said.
Russo made her comments after watching surveillance footage from the crash, which formed a key piece of evidence in Shirilla’s trial. She described Shirilla’s actions as ‘controlled, methodical, deliberate, intentional, and purposeful’.
“The video clearly shows the purpose and intent of the defendant,” Russo said: “She chose a course of death and destruction that day.”
Shrilla’s lawyers appealed the convictions, claiming there’s not sufficient evidence to sustain them, however, the ruling was upheld by an appeals court in September 2024.

Federal authorities searched Smith’s Manhattan apartment in April, with prosecutors saying they found an SD card containing hundreds of video of child porn.
US Attorney Damian Williams said: “As alleged, Justin Heath Smith received and distributed hundreds of recordings containing child pornography, including a ghastly video showing a young child bound, beaten, and raped.
“Our investigation into Smith is ongoing, and we urge anyone with information about Smith’s conduct to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. Together with our law enforcement partners, we will relentlessly pursue those predators who victimize children and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”
Meanwhile, FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Smith added: “I want to make it clear: those who distribute child sexual abuse images prey upon the most vulnerable in our society. Each image is a crime scene, leaving lasting scars on innocent victims.
“The FBI is relentless in our pursuit of these perpetrators. We will track them down, arrest them, and ensure they face justice for the harm they cause.”
