Trace Cyrus has alleged that his father has threatened legal action against him after his public plea for the country star to seek help.
Metro Station star Trace is one of Billy Ray Cyrus‘ six kids. Billy Ray is also father to Grammy Award-winning artist Miley Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus and Christopher Cyrus.
And the country music star, who is best known for his 1992 song ‘Achy Breaky Heart’, recently sparked concern after his chaotic performance at Donald Trump‘s inauguration.
35-year-old Trace wasted no time in making a public plea to his celebrity father after claiming the singer is ‘not healthy’.
He penned on Instagram in a lengthly message: “Since my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you.
“The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now.
“It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you. You may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point. Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.”

Trace went on to write that his plea ‘comes from a place of love’ as he told Billy Ray that he’d love to assist him in getting help.
But the social media post seems to have not gone down well with Billy Ray as Trace now says his dad has threatened legal action against him.
In a new post shared on Instagram yesterday (January 25), Trace penned: “Dad my message was beyond loving.
“I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace.”

The scathing post went on: “Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will always love you but I no longer respect you as a man. Everyone close to you is terrified to tell you how they really feel. I’m not. Get help.”
The message was first posted to Trace’s Instagram Story, with the ‘Shake It’ singer going on to share it to his grid as well.
He has turned comments off on the post.

But despite receiving recognition for her incredible achievements, there was one elephant in the room when the singer stepped up to accept her award.
Having made history in her career by collecting her first Grammys, Miley used the opportunity not only to praise her fellow artists, but also to give a shoutout to the people who had helped to get her there.
She said: “This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular.
“So please don’t think that this is important, even though it’s very important, right guys?”
Miley then thanked her mom and her sister during the speech, before adding: “I don’t think I forgot anyone – but I might’ve forgotten underwear. Bye!”

Ever since the acceptance speech, people have been wondering why Miley didn’t thank her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Fans were quick to weigh in on the drama, and while it’s not clear whether Miley chose not to shoutout her dad, people have a lot of thoughts.
“Did y’all catch the shade Miley threw at her dad during her award speech?” one person wrote on X, while another posted: “Miley deliberately leave out her dad in her thank you speech ???”
Many have been wondering if there’s some sort of drama between Miley and certain family members, following her parents’ divorce.
Billy Ray and Miley’s mom, Tish, announced their divorce in April 2022 after nearly 30 years of marriage, with Tish having since gone on to marry Prison Break star Dominic Purcell.
Only Miley and Tish’s children from a previous relationship were at the wedding, despite Billy Ray and Tish having two other children – Miley’s sister, Noah, and brother, Braison.

When Billy Ray and Tish divorced, it seemed to be on amicable terms.
“It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways – not with sadness, but with love in our hearts,” they told People in a statement.
“We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”
It’s unclear whether there have been any feuds since, but Billy Ray, 62, has also moved on.
The star got engaged to Australian singer Firerose, 34, in August 2022 before marrying last October.

Miley Cyrus, who rose to fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, became emotional as she praised fans of the show after being named a ‘Disney Legend’.
The Grammy-award winning singer received a standing ovation from the 12,000-strong crowd when she became the youngest star honoured with the Disney Legend status at the company’s biennial fan convention, D23.
Country singer Lainey Wilson introduced Cyrus with a rendition of Hannah Montana theme track ‘The Best Of Both Worlds’, before thanking the star for ‘never being afraid to step outside the box’.

Cyrus said ‘a little bit of everything has changed’ since she shot her first scenes as a teenager leading a double life as a famous pop star, ‘but at the same time nothing has changed at all’.
“I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana,” the 31-year-old said, with footage shared on YouTube by Keena Kindragon showing her blinking back tears.
“This award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing, loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality.”
“To quote the legend herself, This Is The life,” she continued, referencing the 2006 Hannah Montana track which featured on the show.

During her speech, Cyrus made a witty reference to rumors that Disney kids are created in the Californian Disney office.
“I definitely wasn’t created in a lab,” she said. “And if I was, there must have been a bug in the system which caused me to malfunction somewhere between the years of 2013 and 2016,” she joked, referencing her ‘Wrecking Ball’ era.
Cyrus also became emotional on stage when giving advice about fear.
“What I want to say is that legends get scared too,” she said. “I’m scared right now, but the difference is we do it anyway and all of you can do that every single day.
“It’s legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There is no such thing as failure when you try, that’s the only way you lose.”
However, while Cyrus starred on Hannah Montana alongside her country singer star dad Billy Ray Cyrus, she failed to mention him in her speech.

Her father starred as her on-screen dad Robby Stewart on the show for all four of the seasons it ran for.
The omission comes amid rumors that Cyrus and her father have become estranged in more recent years.
The singer also failed to mention her dad in her Grammy Award acceptance speech earlier this year after winning Record Of The Year for her hit song ‘Flowers’.
It’s thought that the pair may have fallen out after the ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ singer wed Firerose last year, who is 27 years his junior.
They have since filed for divorce.
Singer Miley Cyrus received her first Grammy award this year, but has now savagely hit out at the organisation in a new interview.

Earlier this year she received the award for Best Pop Solo Performance, as well as Record Of The Year.
Miley’s memorable appearance at the award ceremony included a performance of her hit ‘Flowers’ as she made a noticeable change to one of her lyrics as instead of singing, ‘started to cry, then remembered I can buy myself flowers’ she changed it to ‘I started to cry, then remembered I just won my first Grammy!’
While she seemed thrilled on the night, four months later her feelings seem to have changed.

Speaking to W Magazine, the star said: “No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?
“I’ve had a hard time figuring out what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk stats and numbers, then where the f**k was I?
“And if you want to talk, like, impact on culture, then where the f**k was I? This is not about arrogance. I am proud of myself.”
On the night of the Grammys, as fans also noticed a potential dig at ex husband Liam Hemsworth in a subtle lyrics change.
If the song – about Cyrus realising her own self-worth and comfortability being by herself – is actually a dig at Hemsworth, her little additions during her Grammys performance may have added fuel to the fire.
She sang ‘I didn’t want to leave you’ interrupting herself to add ‘but I had to!’
Her fans on social media were sent into overdrive over the ad-libs.
“Miley Cyrus stood up there on stage and said [basically] said F U Liam Hemsworth,” one X user wrote.
“Miley Cyrus is so beautiful Liam Hemsworth is cursing god rn,” another wrote.
“Miley Cyrus ‘Flowers’ lyric change about her first Grammy has me BEAMING she just looked so joyful,” said another.
“Liam Hemsworth watching Miley Cyrus win Record Of The Year for ‘Flowers’ knowing that song is about him,” another commented sharing an image of a grumpy child.

Miley Cyrus may be able to buy herself flowers, but she’s also now had to buy herself an attorney as well.
Cyrus‘ release of Flowers in 2023 acted as a major milestone in her career – from child Disney star Hannah Montana to post-teen ball wrecker before blossoming into her latest phase in the form of album Latest Summer Vacation.
Alas, the widespread success of ‘Flowers’ – streamed more than two billion times on Spotify and seeing Cyrus land two Grammy Awards – was quickly followed by controversy – the accusation the song copied a Bruno Mars hit.
While Mars himself has not accused Cyrus of copying, a company that owns a share of the copyright of his song When I Was Your Man – Tempo Music Investments – filed a civil lawsuit against Cyrus back in September.
The lawsuit alleges Flowers would ‘not exist’ without having ‘exploited numerous melodic, harmonic and lyrical elements of When I Was Your Man’ including ‘the melodic pitch design and sequence of the verse, the connecting bass-line, certain bars of the chorus, certain theatrical music elements, lyric elements, and specific chord progressions’.
When I Was Your Man was first released in 2013. For context, Mars sings: “I should’ve bought you flowers/And held your hand/Should’ve gave you all my hours/When I had the chance/Take you to every party/’Cause all you wanted to do was dance.”
And Cyrus sings in Flowers: “I can buy myself flowers/Write my name in the sand/Talk to myself for hours/Say things you don’t understand/I can take myself dancing/I can hold my own hand.”
However, on Wednesday (November 20), Cyrus’ legal team filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit in California’s Central District Court.
