Swirled Cinnamon Sweetheart Cookies
Ingredients:
1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

Directions:
Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla
Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined .
Divide and Roll Dough: Divide the dough in half. Roll out each half between two sheets of parchment paper into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick .
Add Cinnamon Sugar: Mix cinnamon and brown sugar together and sprinkle evenly over the rolled-out dough
Form Cookie Logs: Starting with the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log, peeling away the bottom parchment as you roll. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours .
Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) .
Slice and Bake: Cut the logs into 1/4 inch slices and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are just turning brown .
Cool Cookies: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely .
