Rich Chocolate Fudge Cake with Gooey Salted Caramel Drizzle
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
200g unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
200g dark chocolate, chopped
250g light brown sugar
3 large eggs
150g all-purpose flour
30g cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
150ml whole milk
For the Salted Caramel:

200g granulated sugar
90g unsalted butter, cubed
120ml heavy cream
1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
Preheat and Prep:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
Make the Cake Batter:
In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and dark chocolate together over a pan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the light brown sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy. Gradually fold in the chocolate mixture.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Salted Caramel:
In a medium saucepan, heat the granulated sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it melts into a golden caramel. Add the butter and stir until fully incorporated. Slowly pour in the cream while stirring, and let it boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in the sea salt. Let it cool slightly before drizzling over the cake.
Assemble and Serve:
Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the salted caramel over the top, letting it drip down the sides. Serve with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
