Chicken Lazone
Chicken Lazone is a delectable Cajun-inspired dish featuring tender chicken breast tenderloins seasoned with a flavorful blend of spices, cooked to perfection, and served over creamy pasta. This recipe is quick and easy to make, making it perfect for busy weeknights or when you want to impress your guests with a delicious homemade meal.
Ingredients:
2 pounds chicken breast tenderloins
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon white pepper
½ cup butter, divided
3 cups heavy cream
10-12 oz. spaghetti, cooked
Directions:
In a bowl, combine garlic powder, salt, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and white pepper. Reserve 2 teaspoons of the spice mixture and set aside. Season the chicken tenderloins with the remaining spice mixture.
In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until sizzling. Avoid overheating the butter to prevent burning. Add half of the seasoned chicken tenderloins to the skillet and cook until nicely browned on both sides. Add 1 more tablespoon of butter if needed, then flip the chicken and brown the other side.
Repeat the process with the remaining chicken and butter. Once browned, remove the chicken from the skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
In the same skillet, add the heavy cream and reserved spice mixture. Heat over medium heat until simmering, stirring slowly. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes or until thick and creamy, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning with additional salt or garlic powder if desired.
Serve the chicken and creamy sauce over cooked spaghetti. For extra flavor, you can immerse the chicken in the sauce just before serving to ensure it’s heated through and coated with the delicious sauce.
