Cheesy Garlic Cruffins
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm milk
1 large egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup minced garlic
1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, and rosemary)
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter; mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch down dough and roll out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread minced garlic, herbs, Parmesan, and mozzarella evenly over the dough.
Cut into strips and twist each strip to form a cruffin shape. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Let rise again for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
