Heavily Tattooed Dad Faces Backlash, Branded a ‘Horrible Father’
Expressing oneself is a fundamental aspect of being an individual. Tattoos serve as a wonderful medium for people to convey their identity through art. Richard Huff, a 51-year-old individual, has embraced tattoos as his chosen means of self-expression, boasting an impressive collection of over 240 tattoos.
Richard Huff, a self-proclaimed ink addict, is a family man with a wife and five children. His wife frequently shares videos and pictures of their family, though the response from viewers is not always positive. Despite the online criticism, the 51-year-old emphasizes that their family is “no different” from any other. He has experienced mockery from strangers online due to his appearance.
Huff revealed that his journey with tattoos began as a personal choice that turned into an addiction. He started with his legs and gradually worked his way up. Currently, approximately 85% of his body is covered in tattoos. Notably, his tattoos include the names of his children and even his daughter’s lips.
“It became an addiction, I started with my legs and worked my way up,” he said. “I want to be 100% covered in tattoos probably within the next four years. I don’t know if it’s the pain or the artwork that you put on you, but it just becomes fascinating when you’re able to do this.”
He also acknowledged that having an extensive collection of tattoos comes with its challenges. He mentioned that children at his kids’ school perceive him as intimidating. His daughter shared, “They say, ‘ah, it’s a bit scary,’ and I say ‘no, my dad is not scary, he is good with tattoos.’” Despite the misconceptions, it seems Huff strives to challenge stereotypes associated with tattoos.
Richard Huff’s wife, Marita, admitted that she was initially apprehensive about him due to his appearance. She revealed, “I did judge Richard based on his looks at first, but as I got to know him a little bit, he is actually a big-hearted person.”
Marita frequently shares on social media about her husband, emphasizing how he loves her in a way that no one has before. She highlights his positive qualities, portraying him as a wonderful husband and father. Marita, who has three children from previous relationships, has expressed how Richard has played a significant role in their lives, going beyond the duties of a stepfather.
Richard himself shared, “I participate in the PTA, I go to all my kids’ functions,” underlining his active involvement in his children’s lives.
Despite the positive aspects of Richard Huff’s personality and his active role as a husband and father, he continues to face criticism. A comment expressing disapproval questioned the necessity of tattoos on his face, stating, “I’m not against tattoos, but I mean honestly, does he really need tattoos on his face like that?”
Amidst the criticism, there are individuals who come to Richard Huff’s defense. One supportive comment conveyed, “Everyone keeps talking about his face tattoo. He likes it. He got it. He’s a good father. Let him be.”
Speaking of the negativity Richard said, “If somebody can make negative comments like that, there’s something wrong with them themselves that they would have to judge somebody else.” He emphasized that he and his family are content with their choices, stating, “This is what we did and we’re happy. We’ve been together six years, our kids are happy, and to us, that’s all that matters.”

The age gap is just a number.. its 23years between me and my husband!
He spoils me like a princess too
Me and My Husband are 21 years apart but makes us love each other more and more
as long as he’s a goof parent and person that’s all that matters. His tattoos does not make him a bad person if him and his wife like them that’s all that matters. keep being u sir and don’t let anyone try to change you
I think you’re an amazing couple and good parents.. just seeing how happy your children are tells the story …I don’t know why people judge others but it’s something that is always going to happen…it would be nice if they had something positive to say instead, but that’s life !! I don’t see scared children at all I see children that love their dad .
Laurette Rhodes:where do you see those children?
It never mentioned their ages, so I don’t know anything about an age gap. But as far as his tattoos, that doesn’t make him a good or bad dad. It does look a bit creepy to me, but that’s their lives and their decisions. That’s not for me or anyone else to judge. Only God can do that. Anyone judging should take a close look at themselves.
yes God will judge. And I’m sure you know what the Bible tells us about tattoos. l pray he ask for forgiveness. Now, telling someone what they are doing is against the word of God it isn’t judgement. Once we accept God in our lives we become disciples of God. It’s our job.
No the hell it isn’t.. the bible CLEARLY states judge not, lest ye be judged.. he without sin cast the first stone….you are absolutely supposed to worry about your own salvation and relationship with the Lord.. You are absolutely NOT supposed to be concerned with your neighbor… What in the world are you trying to teach people with that message.. I pray YOU ask for forgiveness!!!
He may be the best dad in the world but think of the embarrassment or even bullying you kids might get when you turn up at the school gates or even parent evening’s, not all think it’s cool.
How embarrassed are your kids of you? People like yourself is what’s wrong with this world. Life is too hard to go around due in others. When there’s always work to be done in your own house and on yourself.
Judge much?
WENDY TUSTIN you must be an older lady….tattoos are so common now.. I highly doubt “most of the kids” are scared of him or rude to his kids. plus it didn’t care what he looks like what matters is he is there. he even goes to PTA meetings. obviously his children love him even just his step children. i never comment on anything but to say things like you are about a man just cus of tattoos. we’re not in the 80s anymore. get off the Internet if your gonna act like we are.
I am 70 yrs old and * have 2 tats but both are now have cover ups done over them . plus a name under one.my first was at age 16. not about being older !?? she one of those preppies we laugh at in school. word….. and I am a woman. I’m with Patricia, do what you do and You should Close your eyes or look away. yes it looks bad and needs a redo . offer to help him fix it.
maybe he puts his children needs first. nice
Patricia Sasser Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, stop being such a bully. Have some respect.
There was nothing disrespectful in Patricias comment. Bully is a rediculous word to use. And do you hear yourself??? “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion” everyone except Patricia right??? Smdh. WOW
I’m not too sure that opinion is even up to the 80s..,lol.. more like the 50s or 60s I think. We had Madonna and Ozzy Osbourne in the 80s.. Wendy seems to not be capable of the live and let live and sounds like Mrs Kravitz..I recently had a dear friend pass away who was tattooed on his face as well. He was a drug and alcohol counselor, advocate for the HIV alliance, mentor and sponsor to many people in recovery and worked with post prison felons reintergrating back into society healthy and productive. He bought a limo and built a business with it for bridal showers, winery tours, groups of people going to concerts and needed a designated safe driver. He named his business ‘I am ink’ . Father of 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren. One of the absolutely best men outsidemof my family that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and being a part of my life. Did the tattoos make him a bad person?? Absolutely not. I feel they showed the world it’s ok to dare to be different but be a positive contributor to society. I miss him tremendously, I used to joke with him and my husband that he was going to be my second husband.. the world was a much better place with him in it.. Shame on you Wendy.. open your narrow mind.
How embarrassed are your kids of you? People like yourself is what’s wrong with this world. Life is too hard to go around judging others. When there’s always work to be done in your own house and on ourselves. If everyone always focused on being better human today then we were the previous day. It just might Provide some contentment, and happiness that most are lacking.
You mean people like yourself
What an awful thing to say to a parent.
Each to their own. I’m not sure why he would cover himself in so many tattoos but he must have a reason and it is truly his business. it seems he has a happy family and good marriage, i don’t know why people can’t ignore or accept his differences. Generally these kind of people riducle handicapped people or those with any differences.
YOU are what is wrong with society. The judgement from you is abhorrent. You must be the lord and savior, reincarnate, then right? For you to be able to judge so freely? This father is loving, takes care of his own and is a better person than you’ll ever be, even with all of those beautiful tattoos. GO EF UR SELF
How embarrassed are your kids?
Wow what an awful perspective
you have to be the most hateful, judgemental person I’ve ever seen. I’m sure you are so perfect, in your perfect life that you’re so compelled to add your 2 cents here. That’s all it’s worth, too.
no it’s people like u is why the world is the way it is. and rhere kids love them unconditional. we live in a world if judgemental people such as u. I’d rather live around loving kind humans with tattoos vrs rude judgemental people
I am an Ink addict and i understand him completely. I don’t have covered my body entire, but step by step i will do it. Each of us have the right to be what they want, despite their tattoos, religion or sex preferences. And, wtf tattoos have to do with someone’s personality or love for kids and being a good husband? Ppl r judging everyone and everything these days. Not looking what it’s in their own backyard.
At the end of the day it’s not my thing but it’s your body and choice. I would be scared if I saw you in the street and would probably turn around. But if you and your family are ok with and kids are looked after then it’s no body else’s business
Where are the pics of how he used ro look?
I wondered that
You and your wife are amazing people i love the strength you have This world needs more people like you in this judgemental world God bless
Let’s see how happy his kids are when they are in their teens and self-conscious about their parents.
Most of these comments are from turned up nose goody goodies , tattoos today are no different to most of the people of the world , they just except you for who you are not what you look like ! I’m covered in tattoos and have 9 kids 7 of these already have tattoos themselves , they have never been embarrassed of mine and there friends think I’m the cool dad ! Most doctors nurses and solicitors have them also these days , we are in the 21st century so it’s time to get your heads out of the sand !
My friend quest has tattoos
Giving in to your wanting these ghoulish tatoos is selfish, sir. Your kids, wife, and you will be judged and probably rediculed whenever you are seen together by others. Not fair to them.
To all you people judging this man, let’s see pictures of your perfect little faces! I’ll wait! You people are disgusting. If he’s happy, who cares? Who is it hurting? It doesn’t bother his kids. They love him.
I hate how judgemental ppl are it’s sad who cares what he looks like all that matters is what’s on the inside and he’s obviously a great dad and husband so kudos to him ppl need to start taking a look at themselves before judging others it’s sickening what this world is coming too
my thought as with all tattooed youth is, what will they look like at my age 70. no condemnation or hate. to each his own.
Each to their own. Tattoos don’t define a person and no I don’t have any and told my eldest daughter to get no more but I know and love dearly people with Tatts. They are good kind people. To the bible bathers-“Let those who are without sin throw the first stone” Bloody hypocrisy. Read ALL the bible and don’t just twist it to satisfy your hateful needs. Leave this family alone.
Tattoos don’t define a person, it’s what’s inside that counts.
Those kids eioo be used to it. In fact just by looking at both parents are covered in tattoos I bet those kids will probably be covered in tattoos before they are in school. Lol, that whole family will be the family that’s talked and made fun of. The kids will say here comes the freak family.
Why do that to yourself? What are you hiding from
