Strawberry Shortcake Trifle – Heavenly!
Ingredients:
– 1 angel food cake, cubed
– 2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
– 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup powdered sugar
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
– 2 cups milk
– 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
– 1 (3.4 oz) package instant strawberry pudding mix
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Fold in half of the whipped topping and set aside.
2. In another bowl, prepare the vanilla pudding mix according to package instructions, using 2 cups of milk. Repeat with the strawberry pudding mix in a separate bowl.
3. In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer half of the cubed angel food cake.
4. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake cubes, followed by a layer of half the sliced strawberries.
5. Spread the prepared vanilla pudding over the strawberries, then add another layer of angel food cake cubes.
6. Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the cake, followed by a layer of the remaining sliced strawberries.
7. Spread the strawberry pudding over the strawberries and top with the remaining whipped topping.
8. Garnish with additional strawberries if desired.
9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
